Its quite easy to change the ID of the server like on my Java Written Webserver you just change one line of code :)

yeah….i’ve noticed that when compiling apache…server id can be change prior to the security purpose and management

I imagine that GFE is an acronym used to id the “Google Front End” servers – notice the google personal home page (iGoogle) is IGFE. I can only speculate that your response headers were from visiting the “Front End” of the website.

Apache can be complied to reply with any Server: id.
