I've had this problem on and off for 3 months now, it's driving me nuts!!!!!

This solution didn't work for me :(

Live Messenger works for a few days, then it stops. MSN claim "all systems are stable and running". I can also sign in using webmessenger, so I know it's not a problem with my account.

The problem just seems to come and go of its own accord without any intervention on my part, I haven't changed any settings (including firewall settings) or anything, I can't see any logic in it!!

Somebody out there PLEASE PLEASE help!! I emigrated to NZ recently and messenger is so important to keep in touch with friends and family back home.... I'm starting to feel lonely :( Maybe I should go out and make new friends lol

I have tried just about everything I can find. This fix didnt work either I have the error code 80040154 with Vista and the 2009 version of messenger. I have now spent 2 days trying to fix this. I dont have a uninstal in add remove programs I cant instal an older version of messenger. The web instal of messenger sits on 0% and says it is registeering with windows update. What can I do?
