Are you receiving the following error while trying to sign-in to Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger)?

Error Code: 81000378
Here is how to solve it:
Open windows host file with Notepad: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
Add these 2 lines to the bottom:
65.54.239.80 messenger.hotmail.com
65.54.239.80 dp.msnmessenger.akadns.net
Save it and restart msn
Please do remember to remove these lines when the msn service gets back to normal.

This tutorial will guide you to make sequential thumbnails or screenshots of a video file. Sequential thumbnail means it will autometically take screenshots from a video after some interval and scale them to a smaller size.
Our result will have a single image page containing several thumbnails or screenshots from a video. A great thing if you are sharing a video. People always wants to see what is in a video before they download it.

This tutorial will guide you to take a screenshot, screen dump or screen capture from a DVD.
First we need to install a free software (open source) called Media Player Classic
Download:
Media Player Classic for Windows XP and Windows 2000
Media Player Classic for Windows ME and Windows 98
The software doesnt even need any installation. Simply extract the .zip and run the mplayerc.exe
This brings up the Windows Media Player Classic.
Click on File > Open DVD...
This starts playing your DVD movie.
(yes the screen is blank here... cause you cannt capture dvd screenshot with traditional PrintScreen key)

Can not sign-in to windows live messenger (msn messenger)? Getting the Error Code: 81000314
Finding for a solution i noticed a lot (LOTT) of ppl are experiencing the same problem and its due to Microsoft doing someting at their service end.
Alan L over forums.whirlpool.net.au found a soltion to bypass the default msn servers.
Here is how you can solve the Sign-In Error 81000314:

Reports are coming in from Asia that the Skype protocol has been hacked. If accurate, this means that users can access the Skype VOIP network without using the Skype client - calls could be made through third party software directly to and from Skype users. A Skype-compatible client may be available by the end of July.
The reports are also suggesting that the new software will not support Skype’s super node architecture, meaning that users will not have the resource drain that often comes with running Skype. While this is great for the users of the hack, it could destabilize, ...

Nine months after announcing they would make their instant messaging services interoperate, Yahoo and Microsoft have done it.
The companies are set to release on Thursday a limited beta test of a service that will enable users of Windows Live Messenger (the next generation of MSN Messenger) and Yahoo Messenger with Voice to connect with each other.
The move creates a global community of nearly 350 million accounts, the companies said. The beta service is being launched globally in 15 localized languages.
