i’m is a new initiative from Windows Liveâ„¢ Messenger. Every time you start a conversation using i’m, Microsoft shares a portion of the program’s advertising revenue with some of the world’s most effective organizations dedicated to social causes.

NO its not another scam asking you to do stupid things. You can learn details from the official i’m site: http://im.live.com/Messenger/IM/.

And all this costs to you is placing a simple emotion (emoticon) code in you msn nick name like this:
msn im nicks

So, how you start your charity?

Visit http://im.live.com/Messenger/IM/ and click on “Join Now”.
Join i’m

You will be asked “Where you live?”

Note that at this time it is only available to the USA ppl.
i’m - only in usa

And Bangladesh is not even present in the drop down menu :@ grrrrrr
im - no Bangladesh?

I picked up USA btw ;)

At next step you will be asked to download Windows Live Messenger 8.1 if you dont have it already installed.
i’m - download Windows Live Messenger 8.1

So, download it if you dont have already (hmmm u dont follow my blog) or click on “Already have Windows Live Messenger 8.1”. Clicking on it gives you instructions hot to put the emotion code on your nick name.

Just go to where you change your nick from (tools>options) and place the ‘im code.
Insert i’m emotion code

The code represents the social organization you wish to support. Here is the list of the codes:
i’m emotion codes
*sierra – Sierra Club
*bgca – Boys and Girls Clubs of America
*9mil – ninemillion.org
*komen – Susan G. Komen for the Cure
*mssoc – National Multiple Sclerosis Society
*red+u – American Red Cross
*unicef – UNICEF
*naf – National AIDS Fund
*help – StopGlobalWarming.org

I am supporting unicef btw. So my nick is now: (if you have been following my WLM Color Nick tutorial)
*unicef [c=0][a=#1F499B] dotcomUNDERGROUND[/a][a=#666666].com [/a][/c] [LOSER]
