{"id":191,"date":"2006-02-02T15:42:52","date_gmt":"2006-02-02T09:42:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dotcomunderground.com\/blogs\/2006\/02\/02\/msn-mimic\/"},"modified":"2006-04-08T22:29:05","modified_gmt":"2006-04-08T16:29:05","slug":"msn-mimic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dotcomunderground.com\/blogs\/2006\/02\/02\/msn-mimic\/","title":{"rendered":"MSN Mimic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new feature called &#8220;MSN Minic&#8221; has been added to Windows Live Messenger (WLM) 8 Beta.<\/p>\n<p>MSN Mimic is to give you the opportunity to pretend to be someone else for fun while you&#8217;re carrying on a conversation with your buddies.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel, a developer of WLM says it will allow you to play pranks on a new level.<\/p>\n<p>To launch MSN Mimic go to Games or Activities menu in the conversation window and select &#8220;MSN Mimic&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p>That will open an activity window on the right side of the conversation that looks like this:<br \/>\n<!--adsense#LeftSkyscraper--><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image189\" alt=\"MSN Mimic\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dotcomunderground.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/02\/msn-mimic-main.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In that window you can select the one of the following \u00e2\u20ac\u0153personas\u00e2\u20ac\u009d:<br \/>\n<!--adsense#BoxRight--><br \/>\nPirate<br \/>\nPig Latin<br \/>\nBackwards<br \/>\nIzzle<br \/>\n133t<br \/>\nEnlightened One<br \/>\nOutback<br \/>\nCorporate Babble <\/p>\n<p>After you select the persona that fits you most, type the message you want to send in the edit box and click &#8220;Translate&#8221;. Your message will be translated and copied into the conversation window. <\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s say I want to invite my buddy for lunch. <\/p>\n<p>I type &#8220;<strong>Hey let&#8217;s get some lunch and a beer<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\nand if I&#8217;m in a pirate mood the translated text is: <strong>Avast let&#8217;s get some lunch and a grog<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But if my buddy is a Snoop Dogg fan the text would be: <strong>Hey lizzle get sizzle lizzle and a bizzle<\/strong><br \/>\nThen click &#8220;Send&#8221; and wait for your buddy&#8217;s reaction.<br \/>\nA video conversation is recommended so you can actually see him\/her ;)<\/p>\n<p>Try it and post your feedback <a href=\"http:\/\/spaces.msn.com\/messengersays\/blog\/cns!5B410F7FD930829E!7285.entry\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Be noted that MSN Mimic is only available in en-us markets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>btw&#8230; every time i get the following error:<br \/>\n<code>We're sorry...an error has occurred.
