Got myself enrolled in “MSc in Computer Networks and Communications” at IUB (Independent University Bangladesh)<\/p>\n
Its a 33 credits course with 18 credits core (compulsory) courses, 6 credits elective courses, 1 credit seminar and 8 credits thesis work.<\/p>\n
The core courses are:
\nCNC 501 Computer Networks 3 credits
\nCNC 503 Data Communications 3
\nCNC 505 Wireless Networks 3
\nCNC 507 Network Planning, Management and Administration 3
\nCNC 509 Computer Network Programming 3
\nCNC 511 Network Operating Systems 3 <\/p>\n
All straight forward…. but then ill have to pick up 2 elective courses.
\nMy options are:
\nCNC 602 Optical Communication Networks 3 Credits
\nCNC 604 Network Architectures, Design and Performance Analysis 3
\nCNC 606 Satellite Communications Systems 3
\nCNC608 Antennas and Propagation 3
\nCNC 610 Quality of Service 3
\nCNC 612 Cryptography and Network Security 3
\nCNC 614 Internet Technology 3
\nCNC 616 Advanced Internet Computing 3
\nCNC 618 Software Engineering 3
\nCNC 620 Computer Graphics 3
\nCNC 622 Networked Multimedia Systems 3
\nCNC 624 Grid Computing 3
\nCNC 626 Distributed Database System 3
\nCNC 628 Microwave Engineering 3 <\/p>\n
Now… which two to select? umm…. surely not microwave engineering… not graphics… but a lot of “interesting” topics… which 2 should chosen? “Network Architectures, Design and Performance Analysis” and “Cryptography and Network Security” ? What about “Optical Communication Networks” ? buuuu. All Data Centers use optical carrier.<\/p>\n
And another thing is… the thesis! I am not being able to think of a thesis idea on computer networking. <\/p>\n
Any suggestions?<\/p>\n
Oh and a little funny part is… i didnt get even a week break between completing my graduation and getting admitted in masters..
