Even though Skype has not yet announced any client for Symbian OS Mobile phones (they only offer clients for Pocket PC and Windows Mobile), Fring has released a client which will allow you to have Skype on your Symbian Mobile.

Basically fring™ is a mobile application that allows you to make mobile calls and send instant messages (chat) to other fring users and PC-based VoIP services such as Skype, MSN Messenger and Google Talk at no extra cost beyond your existing data plan. fring calls cost nothing extra because they utilize GPRS, 3G and Wi-Fi mobile internet connections.

Here is fring in action on Nokia 6680:

Got a Nokia Symbian set? Get fring now from www.fring.com.

They will ask for your model and phone number and send you a sms including a link to download the client software.
