Do you need to download, save and convert a YouTube video to your computer for later viewing? I found this little tool that just does the job perfectly.
Though there are tons of software and online tools available to download and save YouTube videos, most of them just stop at downloading the YouTube videos in .flv format. That usually requires you to use a separate tool to convert it to .avi to view with your windows media player or your favorite media player.

This tutorial will guide you how to save Youtube, MySpace, iFilm and GoogleVideo videos using free tools.
What You Will Need
Firefox
VideoDownloader Extension for Firefox
MediaCoder
Instructions:
1) Download and install all of the free tools listed above.
2) Goto a site (such as Youtube, MySpace, GoogleVideo, iFilm, etc.
3) Search and find a video you would like to keep.
4) Click the VideoDownloader Button in the bottom right part of your Firefox Browser window.
5) A window will pop-up. Click the button that says 'Download Link.'
6) Click 'Save to Disk' and then click 'OK' in the 'Downloads' window.
