A friend request got stuck? Feel like you are missing the attention staying at the bottom of the “pending friend request” list?

Or, like in my case, just hate the “Awaiting friend confirmation” message?
Facebook - Awaiting friend confirmation

You can now cancel a pending friend request if you like.

To cancel a pending friend request, first click the “Account > Edit Friends” link on the top right corner.

Now start typing the name in the “Search Friends” box.
Facebook - Search Friends

This will bring up the pending friend request for that person.

Click on the “X” icon (Remove Request) next to the person.
Facebook - Remove Friend Request

Confirm the friend request removal.
Facebook - Confirm Friend Request Removal

Done! If you again visit that profile, you will notice that the pending request got canceled.

The “Add as Friend” button shows up again. You can add the person again if you want to. (Not in my case though)
