Microsoft last week quietly showed off software for embedding its Web-based Windows Live ID authentication services within Windows applications. Windows Live ID is the successor to Microsoft Passport, a hosted service for verifying a person's name and password for logging onto Web servers.
Later this year, Microsoft will release a beta version of a software developer's kit (SDK) for making the Windows Live ID service function within a Windows application, said Lynn Ayres, program manager on the Windows Live ID team.

Messenger Plus! Live 4.00 will soon be released. Some last compatibility fixes have been made into Messenger Plus! 3 to make sure the upgrade goes smoothly for everybody. Note that both software will be capable of running together but won't be entirely compatible, that's why Messenger Plus! Live automatically disables Messenger Plus! 3 upon install. You can then, if you wish, reinstall Messenger Plus! 3.63 (and nothing below it) if you still want to use Messenger Plus! in Windows Messenger 4 or 5.

A new feature called "MSN Minic" has been added to Windows Live Messenger (WLM) 8 Beta.
MSN Mimic is to give you the opportunity to pretend to be someone else for fun while you're carrying on a conversation with your buddies.
Daniel, a developer of WLM says it will allow you to play pranks on a new level.
To launch MSN Mimic go to Games or Activities menu in the conversation window and select "MSN Mimic".
That will open an activity window on the right side of the conversation that looks like this:

Ever wondered how ppl get colored nick names on MSN messenger?
Here is how to do it-
You need to have MSN Plus! and ColorNick version 2 installed.
1. Open a conversation window with any contact.
2. Type /xcolornick and press Enter or click Send. This command is also available in the Plus! menu, Plugins, ColorNick v2, Create a colored nickname.
You can specify the nickname to use after "/xcolornick" (be sure to type a space after this command). For example: /xcolornick New ...

did u chk out the beta releases on Internet Explorer 7 and MSN Live Messenger 8?
IE 7 felt like a clone on FireFox. in 1st run i thought i ran firefox by mistake!
and on MSN 8... if looked so much like the new yahoo... even the offline msg feature has been added
well... m not complaining.... its always nice to have new features added.. dropped out fearures added.
1 ll alway want to make "everything available in others" available in his own.
but 1 thing.... microsoft aint giving the LEAD... its pretty much FOLLOWING

I had a question with EDGE connection
i want to by a edge supported set and connect it with my pc/laptop and browse net with the pc/laptop
EDGE is supported with my GSM provider.
while using net in such way would i be able to receive incoming calls? or would the caller receive "bz/cannt be reached" kinda error msg?
any idea? anyone?
Update: From my experience with Grameenphone GPRS/EDGE Service, when you are not using much traffic (ex. just browsing sites and using messengers) you will be able to receive calls. But when you are utilizing a heavy traffic (ex. downloading with a download accelerator ...
