Facebook has recently (and silently) added a new feature that allows you to tag a friend, facebook page, group, event or application on your facebook status.
This is how you can tag a friend on you facebook status:
Step 1:
Start typing your status text on the publisher. (ie. where you type in your status)
Step 2:
Now after a space type "@" (without the quotes). This will bring up the text "Type the name of someone or something..." under the publisher text area.
Step 3:
After the "@" start typing the name of your friend. A drop-down list will appear with matching friends. Select your desired ...

A friend request got stuck? Feel like you are missing the attention staying at the bottom of the "pending friend request" list?
Or, like in my case, just hate the "Awaiting friend confirmation" message?
You can now cancel a pending friend request if you like.
To cancel a pending friend request, first click the "Friends" link on the top.
Now start typing the name in the "Search Friends" box.
This will bring up the pending friend request for that person.
Click on the "X" icon (Remove Request) next to the person.
Confirm the friend request removal.
Done! If you again visit that profile, you will notice that ...

Starting at 12:01 a.m. EDT on Saturday, June 13, you'll be able to choose a username on a first-come, first-serve basis for your profile and the Facebook Pages.
This will change your profile url from "http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506915199" to "http://www.facebook.com/your-name"
Once the feature becomes available, you will be able to choose your username from here:
http://www.facebook.com/username/
Though till then, you will see a countdown clock over the page.
Note that it will be served in "first-come, first-serve basis". So do grab your desired username before someone else does!
If you are from Bangladesh, the time is 10:01am on June 13th.

Do you want to get facebook notifications right on your desktop system tray?
Though apps like fbQuick and FizzBoost has been developed to meet such requirement, I personally find them bit over charged. Too many features, too much messy. Basically what I have been looking for was a tiny app sitting on the system tray to give me "toasts" when there is a facebook notification.
For that I thought of utilizing the "Facebook Notification RSS Feed" already provided by facebook. Facebook provides options of what content i wish to include in this feed. Thus I can include my "Facebook Connect Notifications" ...

Recently Facebook introduced a new "Like/Unlike" feature which looks similar to the Digg/Undigg feature of Digg.com
At this moment I see this feature in Status and Images (both gallery (other than Profile Images) and individual images). I wonder if Facebook going to use these "I Like" votes to create something similar to Digg.com?
Are we soon to see new sections on facebook as "most popular status updates" and "most popular images"?

Has your facebook account got hacked (compromised)? You can no longer use the reset password feature as the hacker has changed the email address?
Before you give up and create a new account, you can try to recover your hacked facebook account.
To recover your hacked facebook account you need to send a request to facebook using the cont form located here:

Ever needed to list all your private message conversations with a friend? Facebook makes it a really simple task.
Just go to your Inbox and start typing the friends name in the "Search Inbox" box (not the main search box that sits on the navigation bar next to the "Logout" link)
As you start typing the name, facebook's type-ahead tool will show your friend's name in the drop-down menu.
Now select the friends name (by clicking on the type-ahead suggestion box), and hit the "Enter" key on your keyboard.
Done!
Now we have all the conversations with that friend listed :)

The page is importing my blog rss, so you can check out the new updates right from facebook. You can also opt-in to receive new addition via facebook page update notifications (I have not yet decided if I am going to bug everyone like that though ;) lol)
